Waterfront Homes

Waterfront in the middle of the country? There are several lakes and rivers near Omaha, specifically the Missouri River, which runs on the eastern border of town between Nebraska and Iowa. But in addition to this, Carter Lake is also located in Northeast Omaha and has a few subdivisions on the Nebraska side around crater Lake Park and Levi Carter Park.

In North Omaha is a small lake community called Candlewood, where there are primarily residential communities and homes completely surrounding the small reservoir. You'll find homes from about $250,000-$400,000.

A little southwest from Candlewood is the Boys Town reservoir, and Zorinksky Lake is a larger lake located in Western Omaha between Ambrust Acres and Bay Shores. There are several parks and sports fields surrounding the lake as well as multiple residential lots.

Riverfront Condos

You'll also find a few waterfront/riverfront condominiums on the eastern side of the city. Riverfront Place Tower II and Riverfront Plaza offer a couple of condominium options with condominiums starting at about $800,000. These are higher and luxury Riverfront condos. Just south of Interstate 480, you'll find a few riverfront properties overlooking the Missouri River and Conagra Lake. They started about $250,000.

Again, Candlewood and homes around the Candlewood Reservoir and Zorinksky Lake are probably the two prominent waterfront or lakefront properties in Omaha. However, just outside the city limits, you'll find homes and residential neighborhoods all up and down the Platte River. These homes can be found in communities such as Ashland, Gretna, Venice, South Bend, Louisville, and Cedar Creek.
