Locally known as District 66, Westside is a wonderful Omaha community of just over 2,400 residents. This neighborhood is made up of established neighborhoods full of beautiful homes and the exceptional public schools of Westside Community Schools. Westside real estate includes plenty of well-cared-for houses, from upscale luxury homes to quaint bungalows, all within a short distance to any of the district’s exceptional schools. Westside – District 66 Homes

The Westside area, or District 66, typically refers to the school district serving over 6000 students and 14 schools with 10 elementary schools, a middle school, and a senior high school focusing on career and educational services. But this area is also a neighborhood as well.

The boundaries for the Westside include Interstate 680, Interstate 80, 72nd St., and Pacific Street. It's bordered by Oakdale, Regency Homes, Indian Hills Village, Old Loveland, South Central Omaha, and Paddock Road. It also includes Sleepy Hollow Golf Club. A majority of services and amenities are found on W. Center St., just south of the Westside area. You'll also find the CHI Health Creighton University Medical Hospital and services along 72nd St.

Residents also have amenities such as shopping and recreation, close access to the Westroads Mall, Roberts Park, and Brookside Park.

Typically within this neighborhood are approximately 100 homes for sale at any given time. These properties range from $200,000 to over $2 million based on size, condition, and amenities. You'll find a variety of home styles and designs from simple, single-family homes, ranch-style starter homes, tri-levels, and luxury estates. There truly is a wealth of home designs and prices within this district.

Westside Schools

Westside, synonymous with District 66, is a great community to consider if you have school-aged children. District 66 is centrally located in the middle of Omaha, between the Omaha and Millard Public School Districts, and oversees the education of over 6,000 students from elementary school to middle school and high school. Thanks to a combination of exceptionally qualified and talented teachers plus innovative programs, District 66 has had a reputation for being one of the country’s best school districts for over 60 years. With a variety of fabulous neighborhoods to choose from, it’s easy to see why Westside – District 66 homes are so highly coveted.

In 2009, District 66 broke records for its reading and math sections of the SAT. This has solidified them as one of the top school districts in the country.
